Stylistic means of intensification of gratitude speech act (on the samples of English literary discourse).

Abstract
The given article presents an attempt to describe stylistic means used to intensify the illocutionary potential of gratitude speech act. It contains the analysis of dictionary definitions of the notion “gratitude”. The detailed description of illocutionary aims of gratitude speech act allows to conclude that it can function as a behabitive, expressive or convivial depending on the speaker’s desire either to follow the rules of social ritual communication or to reveal the psychological reaction to the hearer’s behavior or actions.
