SUBSTANTIAL EVOLUTION OF BIBLIOGRAPHIC CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM IN UKRAINIAN (1919-1961)

Abstract

The publication deals with an analytical overview of the historical background and structural features of library classification in the Ukrainian language of the first half of XX century. The main evolutionary changes in the structure of classifications of different periods edition are defined. The conditional periodization of creation and development of library classifications in the Ukrainian language are conducted.Purpose. The library classifications in the Ukrainian language of the first half of XX century is the subject of inquiry. The publication is concerned with the historical development, origin and analyses of the library classifications in Ukrainian of the first half of XX century structure. The goal is to explain the historical aspects of the creation and analytical survey of the library classification in the Ukrainian language of the first half of XX century.Methodology. The investigation deals with the basic principles of historical and library research through combining scientific methods (generalization, analysis and synthesis) and special techniques. The information and archival methods are used. Finding. Analyses the historical aspects of the creation, implementation and application of the library classifications in the Ukrainian language of the first half of XX century; indicates the chronology and historical periods of publication and application of the library classifications in Ukrainian of the first half of XX century; analyses the fundamental and structural characteristics.Practical value. New historical facts about the adaptation, development and application of the library classifications in Ukrainian of the first half XX century are presented.Results. The library classifications in the Ukrainian language of the first half of XX century is international, encyclopedic, concentrated, mnemonic, tensile, universal and systematic classifications. These classifications symbolize the development of meaningfulness systematization.
