[sup][/sup]USING PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR CREATING SYMBOLIC CAPITAL OF THE CITY

Abstract

The aim of the article is describing the importance of symbolic city capital, as the sum of others capitals. The city owned a high level of symbolic capital has a greater ability to attract business ventures, is seen as an attractive place to live, work and learning. Especially important is that city can attracts intellectual capital and creative class, which accelerates local development processes. The thesis of the article is that even a peripheral city, which can find a unique value for on building their symbolic capital may become one of the central cities and overcome the worse position. Symbolic capital could positively affect the environment, must be properly communicated by public relations tools.
