SUSTAINABLE DESIGN - NEW STANDARDS IN SPACE CREATION – A REVIEW OF THE SELECTED STUDENT WORKS
Journal Title: Structure and Environment - Year 2019, Vol 11, Issue 1
Abstract
Sustainable design in architecture is of prime importance due to civilisation, economic, environmental and social factors. Countries both in Europe, and also in other continents, have committed to take measures to limit the degradation of the natural environment. An architect plays a relevant role in creating the surrounding space. Students of the Kielce University of Technology are increasingly more interested in sustainable design, which can be seen in the designs they produce. In the paper, the author presents some students’ works in which standards of sustainable design were successfully applied.

TEIGENVALUE PROBLEMS IN STABILITY OF INDUSTRIAL STEEL BUILDING WITH A HANDLING SYSTEM
The paper presents the eigenvalue problems of the stability of industrial steel buildings with a handling system. The aim of the calculations was to determine eigenvalues (critical forces) and corresponding eigenvectors...
LANDSCAPE SOLUTIONS FOR SMALL RETENTION
The article presents landscape solutions for natural water retention named in Poland ‘small water retention’. The paper covers examples of neighbourhood scale interventions, which use natural environmental factors to opt...
RESEARCH PROBLEMS THAT OCCUR DURING THE ANALYSIS OF THE WORK OF FRP-STRENGTHENED TIMBER BEAMS UNDER SUSTAINED LOADS
A special focus was given to the variation in deformability characteristics of these materials and to the resulting processes that occur in the work of the strengthened beams. Aims and objectives of these studies were al...
TECHNOLOGICAL ASPECT OF BRICK PRODUCTION USING THE METHOD OF AUTOCLAVING
Production of sand-lime bricks using the autoclaving method is a well-known process, especially in Europe. During the autoclaving process, also called the hydrothermal treatment or hardening the materials with lime and/o...
