Szkoła wobec konieczności wdrażania rozwiązań ergonomicznych w przestrzeni edukacyjnej — idea czy obowiązek?

Abstract

School against the Need to Implement Ergonomic Solutions in the Space of Education — the Aim or Obligation? Contemporaneity, in which a progressive process plays a huge role in technology and computerization of everyday life, besides indisputable advantages, unfortunately it also brings negative consequences. These are among other distortions in the mental and physical development of children and adolescents leading to disorders or chronic diseases. Sedentary lifestyle is slowly displacing bodily movement, which over time can lead to hypokinesia. Posture and diseases of the spine, increased fatigue vision and sight defects collect crops among children and adolescents. Epidemiologists sound the alarm, pointing to the rapid increase in the number of people requiring medical intervention. Therefore, without the proper equipment of schools with appropriate furniture, lighting, as well as other necessary parameters that make up the modern and ergonomic educational space, unable to overcome the growing problem. The level of workload school must take into account the characteristics and capabilities of the young organism. Thus, in designing the interior of the school, it becomes necessary to create functional workstation for student, while maintaining all the rules of ergonomics. Unfortunately, in Polish schools dominates the conflict between the priorities for this first: savings in financing the facility and safe for use by healthcare beneficiaries. The article concerns the fundamental issues undertaken subject to indicate the severity of the problem for good health and quality of child’s life. The author provides explanations of terminology, points to the existing guidelines in the field of ergonomics architecture school, and justifies the need to implement innovative solutions in this field because of the concern about the health and well-functioning student in school reality
