Abstract

Early Mathematisation of the Child — Stimulating and Inhibiting Factors Early mathematical education of a child is an important issue from the point of view of further education and the mathematical choice by students in subsequent stages of education. Therefore, these issues have psycho-pedagogical significance for the personal development of students and their long-term school career and life satisfaction. It is a part of the international educational assumptions, aimed at increasing the efficiency of mathematical education at the all levels of teaching in the European Union countries as the members of the OECD. The results of effective early mathematisation of the child become significant in the context of the increasing importance of mathematical education and the widening spectrum of its socioeconomic implications. The paper presents the models of the child’s mathematical skills development and the directions of its effective support. It also introduces the problem of math anxiety and the ways of its alleviating.
