TEACHING BASICS OF THE DESCRIPTIVE GEOMETRY – RELATIVE POSITIONS OF LINES AND PLANES
Journal Title: Journal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics - Year 2015, Vol 10, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper presents applications developed for teaching descriptive geometry. The purpose of the applications is represented by the understanding of the basic elements of the descriptive geometry – the lines and the planes and their relative positions in space. The applications are focused on the line contained in a plane, this item being very important for the other relative positions of a line and a plane – the line concurrent with a plane and the line parallel to a plane.

DESIGN OF A UNIVERSAL LIFTING EQUIPMENT AND ITS ADAPTABILITY
The paper presents the design of a lifting equipment following the 7 principles of Universal Design. The 7 principles of Universal Design guide engineers, designers and constructors to create products that can satisfy a...
CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT APPLICATION OF GRAPHICAL CALCULUS
Some typical engineering problems can be solved using graphical methods in an integrated way for knowledge of design, mathematics, mechanics and physics. This paper presents some graphical methods which improve student’s...
STROPHOIDS, A FAMILY OF CUBIC CURVES WITH REMARKABLE PROPERTIES
Strophoids are circular cubic curves which have a node with orthogonal tangents. These rational curves are characterized by a series or properties, and they show up as locus of points at various geometric problems in the...
UNFOLDED REGULAR AND SEMI-REGULAR POLYHEDRA
This paper proposes a presentation unfolding regular and semi-regular polyhedra. Regular polyhedra are convex polyhedra whose faces are regular and equal polygons, with the same number of sides, and whose polyhedral angl...
ERGONOMIC ANALYSIS AND COMFORT DRIVEN REDESIGN OF STUDENT CLASSROOM COMBO DESKS AT UNIVERSITY OF SALERNO (ITALY)
The definition of methods and tools for the evaluation of workers’ perceived comfort during work activities is an ongoing challenge. Many researchers have dealt with it over the past twenty years, generally focusing thei...
