TECHNICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF INDIVIDUAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 28
Abstract
The article characterises most frequently selected by investors individual mechanical and biological sewage treatment systems. On the basis of gathered information and technical documentation, technical and technological analysis of the devices was conducted. Assess factors include technology, structure, workflow, control, exploitation conditions, and sewage treatment system effectiveness. On the basis of conducted analysis, limited possibility of using activated sludge wastewater treatment in a flow system was established due to the difficulty of stabilizing the whole system. An optimal solution for individual wastewater treatment system are solutions of activated sludge technology in SBR system and hybrid technologies.

NUMERICAL MODELLING OF SOIL ARCHING IN A SHALLOW BACKFILL LAYER
The paper presents the application of the finite element method into the modelling of soil arching. The phenomenon plays fundamental role in soil-shell flexible structures behaviour. To evaluate the influence of arching...
Degradation of pahs in sewage sludge during fermentation process
In this study, the changes of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sewage sludge and supernatants during anaerobic digestion under sulphate–reducing conditions were investigated. Na2SO4 were added to the mixed slud...
TEMPERATURE IMPACT OF NITROGEN TRANSFORMATION IN TECHNOLOGICAL SYSTEM: VERTICAL FLOW CONSTRUCTED WETLAND AND POLISHING POND
The article describes the results of the research, purpose of which was to evaluate influence of the temperature on the effectiveness of nitrification and denitrification in the sewage treatment system consisting of vert...
FLEXURAL ELASTIC BUCKLING STRESS OF BATTEN TYPE LIGHT GAUGE BUILT-UP MEMBER
In Japan, built-up member composed with light gauge is used for studs of shear wall. Flexural buckling stress of built-up compression member is evaluated by effective slenderness ratio. The effective slenderness ratio of...
TRI-AXIAL TESTS FOR BRITTLE MATERIALS: MOTIVATION, TECHNIQUE, RESULTS
The aim of the paper is to explain the experimental technique used in tri-axial material tests and to supply new and more general experimental data on deformability and fracture of ceramics and cementitious composites. S...
