TENDENCIES OF DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENT’S SELF-GOVERNMENT IN 1964–1979.

Abstract

In article the analysis of development of student’s self-government during the period, 1964-1979. Tendencies and regularities of formation of this phenomenon during a certain period are defined. The considered work of the Komsomol and trade-union organization of higher educational institutions; activity of student scientific circles and student’s design bureaus; sports clubs; amateur performances; student’s press; socially useful activity the analysis of student’s activity in hostels is also carried out. The analysis of activity of student’s self-government in 1964–1979 leads to a conclusion about existence of the following regularities in functioning of this phenomenon: increase in value of administrative methods of the management, total control of educational, public, private life of students, creates conditions for formation of inertness of thinking and activity of students; functioning of student’s self-government on the basis of the principles of centralism, the accountability, interdependence, discipline, submission to the majority, expansions of criticism and self-criticism limits manifestation of a creative initiative of students; student’s self-government promotes development of democracy in conditions when it isn’t end in itself, and carries out a role of an educational tool of young specialists, definition of the rights and duties of students, responsibility, ability to pay attention to all spheres of student’s life, education of independence and activity; dependence of student’s self-government on the political organizations limits a possibility of realization of democratic principles of his activity; functioning of a significant amount of student’s sections, circles, societies, faculties of public professions, create conditions for individual self-realization of the personality and training in interaction in system of the self-coping collectives; collective traditions promote unity of student’s collective and the statement of bases of student’s self-government; socially useful activity in conditions when it is realized and significant, promotes formation of the identity of the activist with a resistant civic stand; formation of the identity of the leader through system of socially useful activity happens thanks to the following conditions: formation of a social maturity through a responsible attitude to work, property; development of organizing abilities; formation of independence in the conditions of decision-making situations; formation of performing discipline; unity of collective through participation in different types of activity; the level of development of student’s self-government depends on the level of realization of democratic tendencies of society and the social order. Student’s self-government in 1964–1979 functioned on the basis of the principles of centralism, the accountability, interdependence, discipline, submission to the majority, expansions of criticism and self-criticism. The main forms of student’s self-government were: mass debates, thematic evenings, meetings with the famous people, lectures, campaigns, excursions, performances, competitions, competitions, sports contests, concerts, festivals, film viewings, conferences, Komsomol meetings of a higher educational institution, the general trade-union meetings, meetings; group a political information, discussions of books, newspapers, release of wall newspapers and stands, training of a Komsomol and trade-union asset, training at faculty of public professions, Komsomol and trade-union meetings of the academic groups, labor affairs in student’s construction groups and student’s integrated teams, meetings of student scientific circles and design offices, meetings of student councils of hostels and the domestic, cultural, medical and sanitary, sports commissions. Studying of development of student’s self-government in 1964–1979 allows to define his tendencies characteristic of this period: growth of administrative methods of management; total control of educational, public, private life of students; decrease in the general level of activity of students; formalism; restriction of a freedom of expression; regulation of student’s amateur activity.
