Teologia objawień z Fatimy według Leo Scheffczyka

Abstract

The Message of Fatima is connected to justification of a sinner through its hamartiology. It preaches that sin is an offense against God; Sins are errors against the faith. The consequences of sin are eschatological – hell and hell on Earth, that is war. Sin calls for reparations in the form of prayer and mortification, which may even mean wearing a „rope of penance”. Atonement for sins is possible thanks to grace. Fatima hamartiology can therefore be incorporated in a broader theological perspective, which is justification of a sinner. Therefore, we can raise a question: How can we read the revelations of Fatima in the context of the doctrine of justification of a sinner? The solution to this problem will mean re-reading of Fatima message in the light of the doctrine of justification. In the message of Fatima we will find in nuce the elements of the treaty on justification. The Catholic Theology associates the following issues with justification of a sinner: the essence of justification, justification and faith, justification and freedom, justification and deeds. Re-reading of Fatima message in the light of the Decree on justification brings these elements out and shows this message in a wider perspective of theology. Thus the message of Fatima is about justifying a sinner. That is why it is still valid today, a hundred years after the Fatima apparitions of the Mother of the Lord and will be valid in the following centuries, just like „the Gospel of the grace of God” is always valid (Acts 20,24).
