ТЕОРЕТИКО-МЕТОДОЛОГИЧЕСКИЕ ИСТОКИ И ПОДХОДЫ К ПОНИМАНИЮ РОССИЙСКОЙ ГЕОСТРАТЕГИИ

Abstract
This article considers the origins of theoretical and methodological justification of geostrategy of Russia and interpretation of its geopolitical interests are examined. It is clarified that one of the attempts to understand this issue caused the emergence of Slavophilism, whose representatives tried to explain the need to unite all the Slavic peoples in a kind of confederation where Russia should play the leading role. Another theoretical and methodological direction was Eurasianism, whose supporters advocated the formation of Russia as a transcontinental state, which should have its own – the third path of its development, without converging not with the East not with the West. Foreign scholars actively focused on the importance of consolidating influence in the Eurasian space (Hartland), for which the struggle between the leading geopolitical centers is intensifying.
