The 17th Century English Metaphysical Poetry: the History of Scientific Perception of the Phenomenon and Current Status

Abstract
The article studies the main vectors of scientific perception of the English Metaphysical poetry from its resurgence at the beginning of the 20th century up to the present. The scrutiny of the scientific views and their transformation about the literary creativity of the Metaphysical School representatives promotes the thorough study of the paradigms of the metaphysical poetry style that can lead to the comprehension of an incredible world picture found there. This is manifested through the artistic expression of the authors’ transpersonal experience in the works of the 17th century English poets, pioneers of the metaphysical imagery.
