The activity of Ukrainian deputees concerning the solution of nationality issue in the Second State Duma of Russian Empire

Abstract
The article discusses the nationality issue in Ukraine. Due to the fact that our country was a part of Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Chechoslovakia, Russia for a long time, our nation was oppressed in all the spheres of their life: political, economical, cultural and social. During the history of our nation there were various tries to get freed from oppression, both military and peaceful. On the way of understanding the nationality issue Ukrainians tried to use the variety of possibilities, both legal and illegal. The sign of legal character of expanding national rights and freedoms became parliamentary activity of Ukrainians in Russian And Austrian parliaments. The aim of this article is to discuss the activity of Ukrainian deputees in the Second State Duman in Russia, their tries to achieve autonomy for the country. The deputees of Ukrainian parliamentary community in the First State Duma in Russia managed to prepare Declaration of sovereignty, but could not adopt it due to dismissal of Duma. Ukrainian deputees in the Second State Duma in Russia tried to implement the document prepared by their predecessors, but due to the abscence of political experience and dismissal of the parliament their plans were not actualized.
