THE ANTIWEAR EFFECTIVENESS OF LUBRICANTS CONTAINING CHO-TYPE ADDITIVES

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of application of CHO-type substances, derived from rapeseed oil refining, as effective antiwear modifiers in lubricants. The study showed a dominant influence of the chemical structure of base oil on the antiwear efficiency of lubricant and insignificant influence of method for the modifiers’ preparation. It was found that the CHO-type additives are more effective in poly-α-olefins (PAO4) than ester oils (Priolube).
