The Chemical Composition of Different Parts of Broiler Meat in Summer Season
Journal Title: International Journal of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science - Year 2018, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
This study was carried to know the chemical composition of meat of broiler strains in summer season. A total of 405 (135 + 135 + 135) day-old broiler chicks were collected from the purchasing outlets of two (02) breeding hatcheries named Kazi Farms Ltd. and Aftab Farms Ltd. Rangpur, Bangladesh. The chicks were placed in an open house and were exposed in summer seasons. Chicks as hatched broilers belonging to 3 strains, 45 of each strain were reared in summer season with 3 replications 15 chicks per pen. They were fed ad-libitum up to 28 days to make a comparison on their production performances. The chemical compositions of broiler meat were significantly differed in different parameter. The significant differences were found (p<0.001) in breast meat DM (dry matter) and moisture content of different broiler strains. In wing meat there were significant differences were found (p<0.05) in moisture content of three broiler strains. The significant differences were found (p<0.05) in CP and CF percentage of drumstick meat among the three broiler strains. In EE content of drumstick meat were highly significant differences (p<0.001).
