Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of «Christianity and literature». Proceeding from the statement that the writer’s axiology and style are closely related to each other, that the consciousness of a believing person differs dramatically from the consciousness of a person who is consistently unbelieving, the author of the article decided to explore the features of the Christian paradigm of the development of the modern Ukrainian poetry. The material for the research was based on the poetic collection of «In the Meadow of the Lord» (2007). Presented analysis showed that the Christian consciousness, which places the Other at the center of the Universe, striving for a mystical connection with Him, notably affects not only the content, but also the poetics of works that primarily have a complex system of addressing. In addition, the researcher came to the conclusion that in conditions of ideological freedom, when the religious meaning of poetry is no longer a challenge to the totalitarian system, it’s time for real poetic mastery. This is exactly what the poetry of modern Ukrainian poets collected in the analyzed book eloquently demonstrated
