The conceptual-evaluative layer of the megaconcept ADVENTURESS and its conceptual components
Journal Title: Науковий вісник Міжнародного гуманітарного університету. Серія «Філологія» - Year 2016, Vol 24, Issue 2
Abstract
The article provides an overview of one of the most actual problems of modern conceptology – the study of literary megacocepts, namely, conceptual and evaluative layer of the megaconcept ADVENTURESS. Popular novels of the twentieth century American writer Sidney Sheldon, a famous author of the adventure stories series which immediately became bestsellers, were chosen as the material of the study. This conceptual and evaluative layer of the megaconcept ADVENTURESS gives the structural system of views of modern English-speaking society on an axiologically tinged lingo-cultural type “adventuress”, that are refracted through the prism of an author’s individual evaluative understanding of the “adventuress” phenomenon.
