Abstract
The paper brings to light the recent past in terms of the relationship between history and memory, a living memory that reveals a whole human experience, in this case a fragment of local history, the stories of two respected people, marked by the episode of deportation that changed their destinies. There is a close connection between history, memory and storytelling. The stories provide important information about them, about their family members, and about the people they came into contact with.
