THE DIRECTIONS OF REFORMING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE BANKING SECTOR OF UKRAINE

Abstract
The idea of the article is the analysis of the main economic indicators of the banking sector of Ukraine for 2014–2017 with the purpose of identifying weaknesses of banks and directions for their reforming. In view of problems in the banking sector and the research of the banking systems in the post-socialist countries, in this article we presented the recommendations for the implementation of marketing of financial services, the liquidation of insolvent banking institutions, the expansion of the list of services provided by banks, the consolidation of banks, which provide for the improvement of banking functioning. A number of reforms have been studied in this research and it turned out that they have a positive effect on the banking sector, by cleaning up and tightening monetary system. In particular, we touched upon the positive consequences of the implementation of the “Integrated program of development of the financial sector of Ukraine until 2020” and we tried to identify and characterize these influences. On the basis of the research, we can propose increasing the confidence of the population on the banking sector with the help of a deposit guarantee system based on the assessment of domestic practices and world experience that will increase the incomes of banks.
