The economic style of the old believer entrepreneurs in the XIX century (on the example of Chernihiv province)

Abstract
The article defines the entrepreneurial culture of the old believers in the XIX century, describes the main directions of their economic activities. It is referred to the particular ethno-confessional group of the population. On the example of Chernihiv province, the desire of the conservatives to preserve national traditions through vigorous activity is shown. A religious code of the supporters of the old faith was a strong motivation for their entrepreneurship. The role of labor in shaping and relaying confessional identity in the performance of their religious community is defined. The author proves that in the process of formation of the old believers as a socio-cultural and religious phenomenon was formed a special economic ethics, which cultivated the concepts of labor, wealth, business reputation.
