THE EFFECT OF INHERITED GOVERNMENT UNDERSTANDING ON RENTIER STATE APPROACH: SAUDI ARABIA AND KAZAKHSTAN CASES
Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2017, Vol 10, Issue 51
Abstract
This study aims to point out if the distribution of wealth to the whole society is equal in rentier states which have different traditions about state governance. In this respect, basic economic and social development indicators of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, which have different state traditions and have natural resources trade as their basic economic income, are compared. At the end of the research, it has been pointed out that Saudi Arabia has performed rentier state characteristics, whereas Kazahstan has kept itself away from this understanding concerning the distribution and the government of natural resources gains.
