The Effect of Visual Literacy on The Success of Physics Course of Secondary Education Students: The Sample of Motion Subject

Abstract
This research has been held in order to look into the effects of visual literacy on the success of physics course of secondary education students. By this, the effectiveness of visual literacy method on learning of motion subject has been researched and some ideas have been proposed according to the results. Sampling of the research includes 50 10th grade students in Kıkkonaklar Anatolian High School. Experiment and control groups have been formed objectively by drawing. During the research pre-‐‑ test and post-‐‑test controlled group experimental design has been used. While visual literacy method has been used in experimental groups, for control groups traditional method has been used. To examine the sub-‐‑topics of the research, two different instruments were applied. To evaluate the test results, for independent groups and dependent groups “t-‐‑test” were applied and statistic program was used. In conclusion, the research showed that visual literacy turned out to be more efficient than traditional method in improving the students success in movement issue.
