The Effects of Concept Cartoons Assisted Animations on 6th Grade Students’ Inquiry Learning Skills Perceptions

Abstract
In this study, the effects of the activity based on only concept cartoon and concept cartoon assisted animations in the unit of “matter and heat” of science and technology course on 6th grade students’ inquiry learning skills perceptions was searched. In this manner, the treatment was conducted in 6th grade students in a middle school in Demirci in Manisa. Pretest-‐‑post test control group quasi experimental design was used in this study as taking one control (n=17) and two treatment group (treatment 1 (n=17) and treatment 2 (n=17)). In treatment 1 group, the courses was teached with concept cartoons assisted animations and in treatment 2 group was teached with only concept cartoons and in control group was teached with science and technology curriculum. As a result of study, when groups’ points of inquiry learning skills perception was examined, there is no significance differences between groups, however, treatment group used concept cartoons assisted animations post test points was significantly higher than their pre-‐‑test was found out.
