The effectiveness of behavioral-cognitive education on the raise of self-concept quantity and the attitude towards drugs in addicted prisoners

Abstract
The present study was done with the aim of recognizing the effectiveness of behavioral-cognitive education on the raise of self-concept quantity and reducing the positive attitude towards drugs in the addicted prisoners of Kermanshah’s prison. The statistical community of the present study included 450 persons of the prisoners addicted to drugs. After separating, 65 people of the statistical community had weak self-concept and positive attitude towards drugs, and had the conditions to enter into the sample. From this number, 40 people were selected at random as sample, and consisted two groups control and test randomly, for data collection, self-concept questionnaire and attitude measurement questionnaire about drugs and addiction were used. The program of behavioral-cognitive education was performed in 12 meetings of 120 minutes in test group, once a week. The obtained results by using the statistical indicator of Covariance analysis showed that the analytical-cognitive education valid self-concept and decreasing the positive attitude towards drugs.
