The effects of product market competition on the cash value of the listed companies in Tehran Stock Exchange

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of product market competition on the cash value of the companies listed in Tehran Stock Exchange.Hence, the study seeks to answer the question of whether the competition in product markets and corporations there is a cash value. Therefore, Kiutubin and Lerner indices to measure competition in the product market is used. Also, the ratio of investment opportunities, financial leverage and debt maturity was used as a measure of cash value. A sample consists of 67 companies listed in Tehran Stock Exchange in the period from 1392 to 1385 were reviewed. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis was used to test the research hypotheses .The results indicate that the standard of competition in the product market (including Kiutubin and Lerner index) measures the value of cash (including financial leverage, investment opportunities and debt maturity) there is a significant relationship. This means that with increasing competition in the product market, the cash value will increase.
