Journal Title: Науковий вісник Національного університету біоресурсів і природокористування України. Серія : Технологія виробництва і переробки продукції тваринництва - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 289
Abstract
The effectiveness of pork production is largely determined by the intensity of growth of piglets in the suckling period and the period of growing. These features depend on the milking ability of breeding pig and the quality of the used fodder. As the Ukrainian market is overwhelmed with mixed fodders of different manufacturers, “Global Agro” specialists pay considerable attention to finding directions for their improvement and the introduction of new technologies that meet world standards. To achieve this, they optimize the recipes of feeds and the regimes of raw material processing. Fodder for young pigs are made according to different recipes and technologies, necessarily undergo a scientific research to discover the highest efficiency of use. The article provides a comparative estimation of the intensity of growth of piglets up to 2 months of age and the efficiency of their use of mixed fodders. The research was conducted in the conditions of the Company “Antonov-Agro” of Kyiv-Sviatoshynsky district, Kyiv region. Experiments were conducted by the method of group-periods. For the experiment, 8 breeding pigs with piglets were selected, from which two groups were formed: control and experimental. In the research period (5 days), the experimental animals were under identical feeding and handling conditions in order to control milking ability of the breeding pigs. In the research period, the control group of piglets received nixed fodder Start No. 1 (up to 42 days) and Start No. 2 (43-60 days). The experimental group of piglets received a mixed fodder of the company “Global-Agro”. Fodders used to grow piglets up to 2 months of age did not differ significantly in terms of energy and protein nutrition. According to the content of essential amino acids (lysine, methionine + cystine), the mixed fodder of “Global-Agro” was inferior to fodders Start No. 1 and Start No. 2 and slightly superseded them by fiber content. As a result of growing, 2-month-old piglets receiving mixed fodder from “Global-Agro” yielded 0.77 kg of live weight to analogues from the control group, or by 4.2% (difference not probable). As the cost of the mixed fodders of “Global-Agro” company was lower, the cost per kg of live weight gain of piglets receiving this fodder at the age of 2 months was also lower and amounted to 7.70 UAH. Cost of 1 kg of live weight gain of piglets in the control group was 12.03 UAH.
