THE EFFICIENT USE OF RESOURCES IN THE CONTEXT OF REDUCING THE EMISSIONS OF THE GREENHOUSE GASES

Abstract
The functioning of any economy is based on resources. The quality of life is influenced by the state of the resources. In the last period, resources were under an increasingly higher pressure. An intensive use of resources has a negative impact on the environment. The economic growth and the employment growth are possible due to a correct and effective resources management. The article presents an analysis of the situation regarding the primary energy resources in Romania. Climate change contributes to the transition to an economy with low greenhouse gases emissions. The transition to such an economy is a long process that must take into account various factors. Considering the national economic activities, the article presents an analysis of the main gases whose emissions have greenhouse effect. The reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions can also be achieved through an efficient use of resources. An economy that uses resources efficiently is an economy open to new business opportunities. Efficient use of resources contributes to the reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions and offers economic opportunities to improve productivity and to develop competitiveness.
