The essence and principles of modernization of regional tourist systems

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to define the basic principles of modernization of regional theoretical systems. Methodology of research. The solution of the tasks set in the article was made using the methods of systematization, generalization, and dialectical approach. Findings. The sphere of tourism activity today is an integral part of the economic and social development of the region and the country as a whole. The article is devoted to the issues of reforming tourism in the regions of Ukraine. The concept of "modernization" from the position of innovative development is substantiated. Practical value. The key principles of modernization of regional tourism systems, which can be the basis for strategic planning and planning in the field of tourism development at the regional level, are presented.
