THE ESSENCE OF THE DEFINITION «MULTINATIONAL COMPANY»: CROSS-CULTURAL APPROACH

Abstract

Approaches to the essence of the definition «multinational company» in context of cross-cultural management are analyzed. As a result of analysis, three main approaches of determining the essence of the definition “multinational company” are identified: geographic aspect; cross-cultural aspect and functional aspect. Main concept of management multinational company is cross-cultural management. It was revealed that a company of any form of ownership and size could be multinational. Even universities could be classified as multinational if they are actively engaged in international activities.
