THE ETYMOLOGY OF ETHNONYMS ORIGINED BY HIDRONIMY (IN HISTORICAL MONUMENTS OF XVII – XVIII CENTURIES)

Abstract
Analyzed the etymology of ethnonyms in the "History of Rythenians", "Synopsys" and Hustynskyi litopys – remarkable historical monuments of XVII – XVIII centuries, which are important for history of the Ukrainians. In particular, attention is paid to ethnonyms the Bulgarians, the Huns, the Moravians and the Slavs. The results are compared with the etymological dictionaries of the Ukrainian language. Analyzed material is not identical and complements the well-known etymology. It is perspective and can be taken into account in the following etymological studies.
