The Evaluation of "Tehzîbü'l-Ahlâk"’ Works in terms of Moral Education

Abstract
Throughout history, morality has been an important issue in every society and every religion. For this reason, all educational systems set targets for ethical maintenance of individuals. It is among the main purposes of National Education to train ethic generations in our country too. However, achieving this goal is possible with a strong theoretical background on ethics. In order to offer a contribution to the research on moral education in our country, the works of Yahya Ibn Adî (d. 970) and Ibn Miskeveyh (d. 1030) titled "Tehzîbu'l Ahlâk" were evaluated in terms of moral education in this research. Based on the works of these two philosophers, who belonged to the Farabi school, have been determined their views of human beings and moral, importance of education and methods of moral education, then the information obtained has been tried to be interpreted in terms of the problems of today's moral education.
