THE FUNCTIONAL LEXIS IN IVAN FRANKO’S WORKS: THE LEXICAL-SEMANTIC ASPECT

Abstract
This paper presents a review of scientific and technical terminology studying in Ivan Franko’s prose «Boryslav’s cycle» through prism of lexical semantic aspect of the Ukrainian language. The author emphasizes that functional lexis is very important for manufacturing and scientific communication as it eases down the acquisition of knowledge and theirs realization in future professional career. The author also examines the oil and gas terminology in Ivan Franko’s works as a constantly researching system but not as a permanent one. The paper gives examples of great amount of very interesting technical terms. Particular attention is paid to analysis of lexical semantic process in the oil and gas terminology.
