The Godio affair and the frst attempt of port building in Arroyo Pareja (Argentina)

Abstract
Guglielmo Godio, beyond his attractive and multiple personality as a journalist, explorer, literalist and businessman, was the person in charge of conceiving a port business of great magnitude in the Belgrano harbor, in Bahía Blanca territorial waters. The present work shows the idea of this project, done in 1900, with the ideological and economic contextualization of those years. In this way, the relationship of this project with the immigration and the Italian politics of the 1900`s, and its impact with commercial interests from the city of Bahía Blanca will be outlined in the following article hoping to be useful to subsequent researches.
