THE HR CHALLENGES IN TOURISM INDUSTRY IN PAKISTAN

Abstract
This research investigates the Human Resource Development in Tourism Industry in Pakistan. The purpose of Human Resource Development is to improve the capacity of the human resource through learning and performance at the individual, process and organizational levels. Data were collected from 300 respondents from Wahi Pandi and their vicinity by using simple random technique and data were analyzed by using SPSS-19 version. It was revealed that problems and constraints, which concern the human resource development in the Tourism Industry, viz., shortage of qualified manpower; shortage of tourism training infrastructure and qualified trainers; working conditions in the Tourism Industry; and lack of proper strategies and policies for human resource development. The present study is an attempt to analyze the HRD initiatives of Tourism Industry with special reference to Gorrakh Hill.
