THE IDEОLOGICAL BASIS OF GENDER DISCRIMINATION

Abstract
The article shows that the general affinity of the premodern paradigm of thinking is not accompanied by ideological homogeneity in solving a gender issue. In particular, the lack of ideological and socio-cultural foundations for recognizing the autonomy of a social entity and social equality gives all grounds to deny the existence of gender inequality and discrimination in this world-view system. A woman, as well as a man, is determined by her natural vocation and the virtues she possesses in this connection, which, of course, does not give grounds for talking about the existence of gender discrimination. For the first time, the first manifestations of gender discrimination are clearly seen as a result of spreading the Christian doctrine, and with it the Biblical myth of the fall of man, a woman being the cause of it; instead, the main socio-cultural basis of gender discrimination is the “sexual split” caused by industrialization.
