THE IMPACT OF THE KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF RURAL INSURED ON THE FAMILY PHYSICIAN PROGRAM IN BUSHEHR PROVINCE IN 2016

Abstract

Introduction: Health and safety are considered as the basic rights of each individual in the community and the state is obliged to provide it equally for members of the community. From the perspective of the World Health Organization, the family physician is the center of global efforts to improve the service quality. This study aimed to assess the rural insured’s knowledge and attitude toward the family physician program. Study method: This study is descriptive and analytical. This research environment is 10 rural center implementing family physician program and rural health insurance and the sample size included 300 people. In this study, a questionnaire was used to collect the information. To analyze the data, the descriptive statistics, SPSS software and T student and Spearman correlation statistical tests were used. Findings: The average score of the studied women’s knowledge was 3.22 ± 4.17 and men’s was 3.25 ± 4.13 and there was no significant difference between the awareness of women and men about the family physician program. Also, there was no significant difference between the attitude of women and men. The average score of the studied women’s attitude was 2.65±0.92 and men’s was 2.83±0.93, however there was a relationship between the awareness variable and education so the people's awareness increases by increasing the education level. Conclusion: according to the results of this study, the awareness of people has been pretty good, but their attitude about the family medicine program is not good. It seems that implementation of training programs by health workers increases the people’s awareness and attitude in the field of family physician program.
