THE ”IN VITRO” EFFECT OF CHITOSAN, GRAPEFRUIT EXTRACT AND PYTHIUM OLIGANDRUM ON THE GROWTH OF THE MAIN FUNGAL PATHOGENS OF STEWARTIA PSEUDOCAMELLIA (Max.)
Journal Title: Progress on Chemistry and Application of Chitin and its Derivatives - Year 2008, Vol 0, Issue
Abstract
ll studied preparations statistically significantly inhibited the mycelium linear growth of tested pathogens. The in vitro effect on the mycelium growth of investigated pathogens depended on fungus species, preparation type and its concentration in the medium. Among the studied preparations Biosept 33 SL at concentration 0,2% showed the highest effectiveness in inhibitory effect of mycelium linear growth of mentioned pathogens.

RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF CHITOSAN BLENDS WITH PARTIALLY HYDROLYZED POLYACRYLAMIDE IN DIFFERENT SOLVENTS
In the present paper, the results of rheological measurements in solutions of chitosan (Ch) with partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) are presented. Aqueous acetic acid, lactic acid and aqueous acetic acid/NaCl wer...
CHITOSAN AND CHITOSAN-POLYETHYLENIMINE MICROSPHERES PREPARED BY MEMBRANE EMULSIFICATION AND THEIR APPLICATION FOR DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS
The aim of this paper was to prepare chitosan microspheres characterised by a narrow dispersion of dimensions, suitable for application for drug delivery systems (DDS). The materials, unmodified as well as functionalised...
INFLUENCE OF DIBUTYRYLCHITIN ON HISTAMINE RELEASE FROM MAST CELLS
DBC induces histamine release from mast cells and can modulate function of mast cells in vitro. Histamine excretion from mast cells activated with DBC is considerably lower than for model of anaphylactoid reaction. Modul...
METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF HYBRID SPHERICAL CHITOSAN/POLY(LACTIC ACID) STRUCTURES
The novelty of preparation is combining two biopolymers into one hybrid system to obtain desired release kinetics of active substances. The substance can be enclosed in the porous PLA microspheres or in the chitosan matr...
HETEROGENEOUS DEACETYLATION OF CHITIN DEGRADED WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN A MICROWAVE FIELD
Two-step procedure of obtaining chitosan with tailored properties has been elaborated. In the first step chitin from the shells of krill (Euphausia superba) and common shrimp (Crangon crangon [L.]) was subjected simultan...
