The influence of insecticides on the quality and quantity of oilseed rape
Journal Title: Rośliny Oleiste - Oilseed Crops - Year 2009, Vol 30, Issue 2
Abstract
Modern production systems incorporate many factors that can affect final yields of oilseed rape. Chemical control of insect pests together with effect against beneficial pollinators is an important element of this technology. Pollen beetle (Meligethes aeneus F.) is the main pest of oilseed rape in Poland; recommended insecticides for their control are neurotoxins from various chemical classes and these have differing effectiveness against this pest. These xenobiotics can influence beneficial insect behaviour, especially that of the honeybee (Apis mellifera L.) resulting in varying levels of pollination and hence varying yields of oilseed rape. This study considers oilseed rape protection when using insecticides from different chemical classes with varying toxicity against both pollen beetle and honeybee.

The development of a new procedure for determination of volatile oxidation products in edible oils with the use of static headspace analysis
This paper presents a selection of optimal conditions for a new promising method to diagnose quality of oil by determination of volatile compounds which are products of oil oxidation. The UV irradiation was used for acc...
The possibility of the use of NIR spectrometer to measure the extremely low content of glucosinolates in seeds during the breeding and maintenance of double low oilseed rape varieties
The basic factor to obtain reliable results by Near Infrared Spectrometry (NIRS) is a good robust calibration. Two calibration methods were investigated. The more universal method called LOCAL was compared to classical P...

Effect of dietary level and the period of feeding soybean and linseed oil in mixtures on rearing results, slaughter value and meat quality characteristics of broiler chickens
The feeding experiment has been carried out on three groups of ROSS 308 broiler chickens (K, D-1, D-2), 40 birds in each group (4 replicates of 10 birds). Starter mixtures were fed to the chickens for the first 3 weeks,...
The effect of growth regulators on content of assimilation pigment in leaves of three soybean cultivars (Glycine max L. Merr)
Two-year pot experiment was carried out in a vegetation house of the Western Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin aimed at determination of the effect of exogenous growth regulators, i.e. indolilo-3-butyric ac...
