The Influence of the Islamic Revolution on the Meaning and Range of Iran-USA Relations during the Twenty-First Century

Abstract
The aim of this article is to determine the influence of the Islamic Revolution on the development of USA – Iranian relations in the context of political and diplomatic relations. The article presents the origins and causes of the outbreak of the Islamic Revolution (1978-1979). Moreover, based on the available literature, the most important (in the opinion of the author) political events involving Iran and the United States, were overviewed. Events of the Islamic revolution, the changing system of constitutional monarchy in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the dispute over the nuclear program resulted in an isolation of Iran from the Western world. Today, in 2016, we are facing the very beginning of huge changes in diplomatic relations between the USA and Iran.
