THE INTRODUCTION AND DISSEMINATION OF THE PORTUGUESE FEUDAL ESTATES IN COLONIAL BRAZIL

Abstract
In the article the features of becoming of feudal landownership in medieval Portugal are considered. Character of the economic expansion in the time of Asturias liberation from the dominion of the moores is exposed. The attention is accented on introduction in the Portugal kingdom of new form of the feudal landownership during 1375 – sesmarias. Identified that portuguese colonization of Brazil since 1532 had character of private seigniorial initiative. These seigniors were named by the hidalgos. King of Portugal granted the inherited sectors for these seigniors. These inherited sectors were named by the captaincies. The indicated feudal seigniors (the captain- grantors) took the right of sesmarias granting for the colonists from the sovereign on the territories of their inherited captaincies. The attention is concentrated on the features of evolution feudal landownership in colonial Brazil and its final decline at the end of XVIII century.
