The investigation of thermal diffusivity for myocardium in conditions of bypass circulation

Abstract

The method for determining the thermal diffusivity of the myocardium in the process of hypothermia and cardiac hyperthermia is based on noninvasive temperature control, which makes it possible to determine in each part of the myocardium the inhomogeneity of the temperature distribution under conditions of bypass circulation is proposed. The values of the minima and maxima of the temperature field on the surface of the myocardium, which determine the extreme temperature difference on the surface of the myocardium to evaluate the inhomogeneity of the temperature distribution on the heart surface, are calculated. The analysis of the distribution of the temperature field on the heart surface and in the depth of the myocardial layer, which shows significant changes in the value of the thermal diffusivity of the myocardium under conditions of cooling and warming of the heart, is performed. The article provides the data on the thermal diffusivity of the myocardium have been obtained, which provide additional information on the nature of the processes and phenomena in the heart tissues that occur when it is cooled and heated.
