The Ivan Franko’s epistemological conception

Abstract

This article represents the analysis of questions about construction, functions and development of the scientific knowledge in main philosophical works of a great Ukrainian writer, poet, political figure and scientist Ivan Franko (1856-1916). On the basis of researches of Ivan Franko’s works and last scientific publications of various representatives of human studies the picture of evolution of Ivan Franko’s epistemological views is represented. This is a way from positivistic classification of sciences to concentration on the structure and special on the unconscious factors of the scientific knowledge. The article notes the originality of genetic-evolutionary epistemological conception of Ivan Franko and the perspectives of next researches in this topic.
