THE MODIFICATION OF TRANSOL 150 OIL WITH THE ADDITION OF GREASES

Abstract

In this paper, investigations concern the lubrication efficiency nodes working at point concentrated contact lubricated with using four oils are presented: Transol 150 and compositions Transol 150 oil with addition 3% powders of graphite, MoS2 and PTFE. The tests were carried out in agreement with the prescriptions of the Polish standard PN-76/C-04147 “The tests of properties of oils and greases.” To assess the lubrication efficiency of the tested compositions, four criteria were used (wear characteristic as the function of load d = f(F), seizure load Fz, limit wear load index Goz, wear index Ih). Investigations were carried out using a four–ball extreme pressure tester. The results were statistically handled at a confidence level of 95% using Student’s t-test. Obtained values of wear index Ih, limiting wear load G and the characteristics of ball wear as a function of applied load and seizure load Fz are presented in graphs 1, 2 and 3. It was found that the influence of fillers on the improvement of the lubrication efficiency of the tested compositions is positive.<br/><br/>
