The Pact for Strengthening High School Education as a policy for the continuing education of teachers
Journal Title: Práxis Educativa - Year 2018, Vol 13, Issue 3
Abstract
This paper refers to a research about the program known as the National Pact for Strengthening High School Education (PNEM), conducted by an institution of Higher Education in Southern Brazil. The text analyzes the education presented in official documents and how PNEM is recognized by the participants. The research, of a qualitative nature, investigates official documents and analyzes reports of the participants published in books about the actions performed as well as the reports registered during an extension course organized by the institution in 2015. The results of the documents show PNEM as a policy that valorizes teachers. For the teachers, the themes discussed during the course are necessary for expanding their competencies, but they do not represent valorization of the profession.
