The peculiarities of compound technical terms translation in the sphere of information technologies

Abstract
The article considers the means of compound technical units translation in the specific and technological texts. The notions of terminology science received much attention from the recognized scholars and researchers, such as V. I. Karaban, O. S. Akhmanova, P. A. Znamenna, I. S. Kvytko. Among them there are those, who contributed to the detailed analysis of the classification of the compound terms and the means of their translation. Although many theoretical and practical approaches to the idea have been suggested, the authors of the article still consider the need for a thorough and extensive study of the terminological units in use in science and engineering, information security management in particular. Compound terms are essential elements of the scientific and technical terminology. The most widespread compound terms models are considered to be the ones of N1+N2, (N+Part.I)+N, (N+Part II)+N and multi component attribute terms. The latter being common in most technical fields are formed by word composition according to the subordinate relationship between the components. Analytical and synthetical approaches to compound terms translation procedure are suggested. The authors provide the learners with the appropriate means of compound terms translation. The first approach is translation with preserving the original terminological unit structure. Lexical and grammar translations are recommended to be used to fully convey the notion. The second approach is translation with changing the original term structure. There are many educational resources available for learners of technical technology and the theory and practice of translation. Printed and electronic media prepared by the educators of foreign languages department of Vinnytsia National Technical University are noteworthy and of practical interest. Using textbooks, distant learning courses special educational and methodological aids future specialists can acquire the rules and norms to make the adequate technical compound terms translation.
