The Performance of Same Annual Ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) Varieties in the Tokat Ecological Conditions
Journal Title: ISPEC Journal of Agricultural Sciences - Year 2021, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
The present study was caried out with the aim of determinig the adaptation of some annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) varieties in the ecological conditions of Tokat between the years of 2018 and 2019. In this study, 11 annual ryegrass varieties (Barmultra II, Barspectra II, Bartigra, Baqueano, Caramba, Devis 2017, Pollanum, Trinova, Vallivert, Venüs, Vespolini 2016) were used. The experiment was arranged in randomized blocks design with three replications in the Bakışlı village of Tokat. Sowing was performedon 21 October 2018. with 20 cm row distance and 3 kg da-1 seed ratio for each varietyby hand. The plants were harvested at the start of heading three times totaly. According to the results, statistical differences were found among the varieties for examined properties (start of heading, main stem length, dry yield, crude protein ratio, crude protein yield, mineral matter, ADF, NDF, digestible dry matter, digstible dry matter yield, relative feed value). Results showed that annual ryegrass can be grown successfully in the Tokat ecological conditions with high yield performance and quality and able to cut many times in a year. In addition, the variety selection was significant and Caramba, Venus, Vallivert varieties exhibited the highest performance in the present conditions.
