THE POLITICAL THEORY OF LEGALISM

Abstract
Legalism is the first political theory in ancient China. This political theory served as the methodological basis for the formation of the imperial model of the Qin. At the heart of the political theory of Legalism was the idea of the determining role of a unified law. Legalism contrasted the Confucian ritual and humanity with the law. Morality and ethics of Legalism replaced by state coercion, a system of rewards and punishments. State administration was to be carried out on the basis of law, force and social technology.
