Abstract
En la industria del transporte de puerto los lazos trabajo y comunidad son estrechos. Si bien no se ha llevado a cabo ningún estudios formal sobre el ambiente social de los trabajadores del puerto de Manchester como parte de una investigación, aquí se intenta bosquejar en conjunto algunas de las informaciones obtenidas en el curso de entrevistas con hombres que podían servir de ejemplo o bien de conversaciones informales con otros trabajadores; se espera aquí arrojar alguna luz sobre la acción recíproca entre las condiciones y las relaciones de trabajo y la familia y la vida social.
