THE PROBLEM OF FORMATION OF BASIS OF INFORMATION COMPETENCE OF FUTURE TEACHER OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract
The problem of philologists’ training for using the information and communication technologies in a secondary school has been analyzed in the article. The actuality of the above mentioned issue has been revealed. A new cours dealing with “Methods of information and communication technologies usage in foreign language teaching in a secondary school” has been worked out. Its main aims, principal functions and tasks have been defined. The main terms and categories have been taken into account. The content of the process of foreign language educational work with the aid of computer in a secondary school was presented. The main knowledge, skills and habits of selecting and teaching on the basis of foreign language educational web-sites, electronic textbooks, computer programs, audio/video podcasts and computer-based tests have been outlined. The aim of a new course introduction is the students’ information competence basis formation. As a result, the students should know the modern technical and electronic aids, computer programs, methods and ways of foreign language teaching and testing with the aid of information and communication technologies. Moreover, the students are expected to enrich their theoretical knowledge of foreign language teaching methodology, form personal creative methodological reflection and develop skills of technical work while teaching with the aim of professional competence improvement. Thus, the necessity of foreign language teaching modernization in the secondary educational institute according to new tendencies of information and communication technologies development has been proved.
