THE PROBLEM OF THE SECURITY OF THE PERSIAN GULF STATES: CONFLICTS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 21st CENTURY

Abstract
There has been made an attempt to consider contradictions and conflicts between countries of the Persian Gulf at the beginning of the 21st century. In this regard, various aspects and a significance of the Iranian-Saudi contradiction in the region were explored. Some trends and peculiarities of the foreign policy of the USA in the region, in particular concerning the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were considered. There has been emphasized that the USA has a significant impact on the development of events in the region. The main trends in relations between the State of Qatar and countries of the GCC were highlighted. Attention was paid to the war in the Republic of Yemen. The foreign policy position of the Sultanate of Oman in the context of the development of the situation in the region was described. The development of events in the Republic of Iraq under conditions of holding of election in the country was analysed. The issue of an existence of the GCC at the present stage was researched. There has been accentuated at an urgent need of creating of the regional security system in the Persian Gulf, an intensification of the dialogue on this problem.
